Greater Huddersfield CCG has been recognised for its commitment to equality in the workplace by the Disability Confident scheme.
The CCG has been awarded Level 2 Disability Confident Employer for the second time. The award shows the CCGs dedication to ensuring that disabled people and those with long-term health conditions have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.
The Disability Confident scheme, created in 2016 by the Government, aims to help employers make the most of the opportunities provided by employing disabled people. It is voluntary and has been developed by employers and disabled people’s representatives. The scheme has three levels that have been designed to support organisations.
Achieving Level 2 accreditation means the CCG has:
- undertaken and successfully completed the Disability Confident self-assessment
- are taking all of the core actions to be a Disability Confident employer
- are offering at least one activity to get the right people for our business and at least one activity to keep and develop our people.

Disability Confident certification lasts for two years, and was introduced to coincide with the Government’s aim to reduce the number of disabled people who are unemployed.
