• Are you passionate about representing your local community?
  • Are you interested in supporting your local NHS?
  • Could you share your experience to help develop and improve local health services?

Did you say yes? We’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for a number of people to join our new Kirklees patient engagement assurance group in a voluntary role to tell us what you think about our future plans.

This is a real opportunity to find out how we plan, design and develop our local NHS services which you can influence.

The group plays an important part in making sure that local people are involved in decisions made about healthcare services in Kirklees.

You’ll be expected to draw on your experience as a patient, service user or carer who use local services, and know what matters to your local community.

By joining our group you’ll get to meet other local community representatives, NHS staff and the partners we work with such as Healthwatch, Kirklees Council and the voluntary and community sector.

You’ll be expected to attend four morning meetings in various locations of Kirklees during a year, and along with reading any information sent in advance so that you can contribute to discussions.

If you’re looking to develop your skills in areas such as working with others, decision making, listening and delivering feedback this role would be ideal for you.

In return, we’re happy to support you in your development by providing training in areas of NHS commissioning and you will be entitled to claim out of pocket expenses such as travel costs to help you attend our meetings.

Here’s our group Chair, Beth Hewitt to tell you more.
